LOCAL construction company Hatanga Limited has sealed a deal with an Australian-based company to implement some of big projects in the country.
The deal was recently signed with the Queensland based – Hall Contracting Pty Ltd, a company with 70 years of experience in construction and dredging.
In a statement issued over the weekend, Hall Contracting said, it is continuing to expand its presence in the Pacific, having recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Solomon Islands-based civil construction company Hatanga Ltd.
Under the MoU, the two companies will join forces when tendering for and delivering projects in the Solomon Islands.
“We’re looking forward to working collaboratively with Hatanga to build high quality, climate-resilient infrastructure,” Hall said in the statement.
The agreement will see Hall carry out all dredging and marine civil works while Hatanga manages landside operations.
Most importantly, the MoU will enable Hall to build capacity within local communities through employment and training opportunities, which is something this company is particularly passionate about.
Hall Contracting started as a one-man operation in 1946 when Les Hall commenced supplying sand and gravel on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Hall had also been helping out in climate change projects in a number of Pacific in the region.
To mitigate the impact of climate change, Hall Pacific is able to design and implement adaptation strategies that improve coastal resilience and reduce vulnerability amongst the Pacific Island neighbours.
The company said, whether it’s building a new seawall and conducting land reclamation and coastal protection works in remote areas such as Tuvalu or Tokelau, undertaking flood mitigation dredging on a Fijian river, or dredging hard clay for a new port facility in Papua New Guinea, Hall Pacific is experienced in delivering dredging and climate change adaptation solutions in the Pacific Islands.
“Our comprehensive understanding of dredging and marine civil works and our fleet of first-rate equipment ensures we are well-equipped to perform in a variety of challenging and remote environments,” the company said.
Hatanga Ltd in a statement over the weekend said, it is privileged to have the opportunity to further strengthen our local capacity by signing a working agreement with this Australia’s largest privately owned dredging, civil and marine construction company.
